This unit applies to food processing equipment that is fixed in place and cannot be moved to a cleaning station. It requires the operator to initiate, monitor and control variables during cleaning. Where this is not a requirement of a CIP system, this unit may not be relevant.
Where the operator is primarily responsible for cleaning and/or where they require a more detailed knowledge of cleaning and sanitation processes to carry out cleaning responsibilities, FDFOP2004A Clean and sanitise equipment, should be considered.
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare process equipment for cleaning in place (CIP) or in-line.
